volDaan
Unpredictable, visual theatre
without words...
volDaan in short:
Unique, exciting, and usually short performances that surprise, touch, and stay in your mind. Strong in visuals and full of energy, they come from mixing images, sounds, and creative ideas into raw, expressive moments.
Playful, clever, physical, funny, and always surprising.
Performances
volDaan Theater creates a unique kind of visual theatre with playful, imaginative, and mostly short performances.
Be surprised and amazed by shows that are special and above all, original.
Unpredictable, visual theatre without words.
Performance DEEP
DEEP
A wordless, sense-disrupting, gravity-defying 10-minute performance that turns your world upside down.
A collision between theatre and mindfuck: the performer hangs upside down (above a giant mirror), while your perspective is radically challenged.
In this unconventional, circus-like and high-energy performance, reality is bent to its breaking point.
Performance FLY
Fly
This dizzying space odyssey begins with a simple bowl of soup and launches straight into the unknown.
G-forces, Adam's apples, weightlessness, and a runaway vacuum cleaner.
FLY cuts straight through the umbilical cord of fairytales, strangely touching in its absurdity.
Reality unravels into a universe brewed from broth, with fate waiting at the bottom of the bowl.
Performance OFF
OFF
A short, sharp, and delightfully twisted performance that takes the audience behind the curtain to the place where everything goes wrong before it even begins.
Stage fright, forgotten lines, rising panic, and the less glamorous side of performing unravel in a whirlwind of visual effects and unexpected twists.
What's usually hidden behind the scenes bursts straight into your face.
Performance BOAT
BOAT
A bizarre, furious, and delightfully absurd 10-minute performance, set inside half an airplane fuselage.
A surreal triptych full of chaos, illusion, and unexpected highs — where nothing is stable, and nothing is what it seems.
The audience boards this stranded wreck, only to be launched into a rollercoaster of boat rides, depth meters, and — yes — a full take-off.
In this wreck? Believe it. Buckle up!

Workshop
A glimpse into the mind of the maker
FLY IN SCHOOL
An active multimedia workshop of around 50 to 60 minutes, in which students are visually challenged right to the edge of their seats.
The performance is deliberately short, precisely the attention span of many young minds. Long enough to be drawn in, short enough that no one gets lost. And then something special happens: the students see it twice! Who gets to watch the same performance twice in quick succession, with different eyes each time?
Students get a look behind the scenes of the theatre maker's kitchen. They get a taste of how one simple ingredient, a bowl of soup, is served up as an entire universe.
With the worklshop "FLY IN SCHOOL", volDaan Theater flies straight into your school. A unique combination in which visual theatre sharpens the imagination.
The workshop is suitable for both primary schools and secondary education
Daan Mathot of volDaan Theater brings years of experience in (music) workshops and working with children.
