volDaan is Daan Mathot, a multidisciplinary creator, performer, and musician of visually captivating short theatre performances.

His journey (2005) in theatre began as a musician with the iconic Dogtroep theatre company in Amsterdam. Following that, he worked both solo and in small collaborations, creating intense, visually stunning, short and full of energy performances that he likes to call "raw diamonds." These performances are designed to captivate and surprise audiences at festivals, events, and occasional workshops. All work is completely independent just as he likes it.

Through his intimate company, volDaan, based in Leiden, Daan has been able to take his art to extraordinary locations around the world, bringing his unique vision to diverse and inspiring places.

His work is an exploration of the visual and the unexpected. Wild, playful, and often jaw-dropping. Short but unforgettable, each performance is a new adventure that leaves the audience feeling like they've witnessed something truly different.
